Federal regulation allows those eligible students to receive IRS form 1098-T the option to receive the form in an electronic format instead of through the mail.

Now, the University of Massachusetts Boston students will be able to sign up to receive the 1098-T form electronically.

Signing up for eConsent will allow students to:

• No longer receive a paper form through the mail.
• Eliminate the waiting time to receive the paper form.
• View print and save the form through WISER account.
• No need to re-consent each year.

Although students are able to sign up the eConsent and no paper form will be mailed, students still need to update/confirm the current address in WISER account.

Students are required to provide the correct Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to the University by completing a W9S form as required by IRS.
