Upcoming Events
Day Trip to American Heritage Museum
- Wednesday, November 13
- Cost: $35 (includes lunch, museum, and transportation)
- OLLI members and their guests will enjoy a day at the American Heritage Museum located in Hudson, MA where they can explore America’s conflicts, beginning with the Revolutionary War to today.
- OLLI members will be able to explore the museum at their own pace. Lunch will be Panera box lunches. During lunch at the museum, participants will be treated to a 30-40 lecture by one of the museum’s docents.
- Including lunch, members can expect to spend about four hours at the museum.
- Departure time from UMass Boston Campus: 8:30 a.m.

Local Author Talk and Fundraiser: Wayne Miller
- Friday, November 22 @ 12:30 p.m.
- Cost: $35, includes box lunch
- The local author, Wayne Miller, was a Special Agent, Criminal Investigator, and Certified Fire Investigator for the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Boston for 25 years.
- In the early 1980s, Boston was set ablaze with nightly multiple-alarm fires. Over a two-year period, 264 buildings were torched, intentionally set on fire, due to tax-cutting measures that caused layoffs of hundreds of police and firefighters.
- Burn Boston Burn interweaves the activities of the arsonists with those of the investigators, the firefighters, and the citizens of the area.
- This event is open to both members and nonmembers.
