Professor Ybarra has been teaching undergraduate courses in writing at CPCS since 1995. His area of expertise is in communication difficulties and cultural differences between Latino students and anglo/mainstream instructors, and writing difficulties that Latino students have in English. He advises students on preparing a writing professional writing portfolio in a professional writing seminar for upper-level foundation students, and facilitates writing workshops that prepare students to improve and enhance their writing skills. He is also the faculty advisor to the Latino student organization CASA LATINA
