Meet our Consultants
Mizan A.
Mizan (he/him) is a graduate student, studying English and from Sylhet, Bangladesh. His areas of interest are translingual writing and pedagogy, digital writing and activism, and multimodal writing. He views writing as a process and is passionate about helping students grow as writers. As an avid cricket fan, he watches cricket matches in his free time.

Ritu B.
Ritu (she/her) is a graduate Ph.D. student in School Psychology with a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Originally from Bangalore, India, Ritu is excited to work with writers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. With a strong commitment to social justice, Ritu is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for writers to explore their ideas and achieve their writing goals. Outside of academia, Ritu enjoys reading, working out, and trying out new recipes she discovers on Instagram.
Tom C.
Tom (he/him) is a graduate student from Brockton, MA studying English. After a decade-long career in wholesale, he completed his undergraduate at UMass Boston, where he double majored in English and History. He enjoys collaborating with writers throughout all stages of the writing process on both academic and professional writing tasks. Outside of academia, his interests include baseball, motorcycles, and media preservation.

Caleb (they/them) is a graduate student from Lowell, MA studying English with a concentration in Literature. They began their undergraduate studies at Emerson College before finishing their degree at UMB and continuing into the English MA program. They enjoy working with students and professionals to help push their writing to its fullest potential. When they aren’t in the Writing Center, you can find Caleb catching a movie at the Coolidge Corner Theater or taking bayside walks around campus.

Neena (she/her) is an undergraduate senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Stoneham, Massachusetts. She is excited to work with students from all areas of studies on their papers, particularly in structuring and analysis building. Her favorite book genre is fantasy and in her spare time, Neena loves listening to music and finding new cafés in the city.

Sophie (she/they) is a graduate student pursuing an MFA in creative writing. Passionate about the dialogues necessary to developing craft, she loves to help bridge gaps between nebulous ideas and concrete, effective written work, whether students come to it from a place of enthusiasm or reluctance. When not on campus, they can most likely be found speedwalking around downtown or reading with a bagel in the park.

Enam (he/him) is a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Applied Linguistics. His research interests center on second language acquisition & multilingual language education. He has experience teaching first-year composition courses and working at the Ball State University Writing Center, where he supported students in developing their writing skills. Enam values writing as a process of discovery and growth, and he enjoys helping writers build confidence through revision and reflection. Outside of academia, he enjoys watching movies, photography, playing pool, and occasional designing.

Rae I.
Racheal (Rae) is a graduate PhD student in Global Inclusion and Social Development at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She has extensive experience in policy research, program development, and workforce strategies. As the leader of the Special Needs Initiative for Growth (SNIG), she works on improving employment pathways and promoting economic sustainability. Racheal holds a Master’s in Sustainable Development from the University of St. Andrews. Her research examines the impact of policies on employment outcomes. Recognized for her contributions, she focuses on linking research with practical solutions to enhance opportunities and economic engagement.

Kennedy (she/her) is an undergraduate English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. Ayesha K.
Ayesha is an international PhD student who teaches
at a university in her home country. She is a researcher with a focus on social inclusion and development and social innovation, however, believes in transdisciplinary research. In home-country, she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level development and social policy; Gender Studies; and English Literature courses. Besides teaching, Ayesha has actively lectured and spoken at conferences in her home country and now doing the same in the international arena of academics and industry for inclusive development and social innovation.

Dakota is an undergraduate psychology student in the Honors College with a minor in English. She has a lifelong love of writing with experience in poetry and academic essays. She is very detail-oriented and enjoys analyzing text. She is also an artist and open to taking a more visual approach to the writing process.
