Resuscitation Quality Improvement
UMass Boston was selected as a National League for Nursing (NLN) Change Agent for the Resuscitation Quality Improvement® Program. In collaboration with the NLN, Laerdal Medical, and RQI Partners, NLN Change Agents will help advance transformation of the standard of resuscitation care for cardiac arrest and prepare future nursing professionals to respond to these events competently and confidently — leading to improvement in survival rates. Together, we will perfect and deliver a highly reliable, progressive, quality program to fulfill our shared mission to further the health of the nation and the global community, to achieve excellence in nursing education, and most importantly, to help save more lives.
HeartCode® is the official American Heart Association (AHA) self-directed eLearning program allowing learners to take BLS, ACLS, and PALS online as an alternative to the traditional classroom-based courses. Once the online portion of the HeartCode® course has been completed, users practice and test their skills by using the self-directed course with the HeartCode voice-assisted-manikin (VAM) system.
